Aristotle
Aristotle was a Greek philosopher and scientist from the time of 384 – 322 BC. He was born in the Macedonian city of Stagira, Chalkidice. When Aristotle was just 18, he joined Plato's Academy in Athens and stayed there until the age of 37. His writings covered many, many different subjects. This list covered physics, biology, zoology, metaphysics, logic, ethics, aesthetics, poetry, theater, music, rhetoric, linguistics, politics and government. Some of the things that he is known for are his writings that are a part of his "writing of Diogenes Laertius and others". He also wrote on Rhetoric, Eudemus, philosophy, Alexander and education. Today we took notes on Ancient Greece. Ancient Greece was surrounded by many, many small islands. Greece was also very mountainous. It was easier to sail from one side of Greece to the other even though it was a farther distance than moving by land. Mediterranean mean two different things. MEDI means "middle" and TERRA means "earth". When you put them together you get "middle of the earth". Athens and Sparta were two different places in Greece but the were isolated away from each other so they were not friendly with each other.
